The COSW would like to congratulate Commissioner Aleksandra M. Stoklosa on the completion of her Ph.D.in Educational Psychology.

Dissertation Title: College Student Adjustment: Examination of Personal and Environmental Characteristics

Aleksandra plans to continue her work as a counselor at the Wayne State University Counseling and Psychological Services Department (CAPS), where she has worked for seven years. She hopes to utilize the findings from her dissertation research in program development at CAPS. Her goal is to improve current programs, and develop new programs tailored to accommodate the unique needs students of different backgrounds have during their transition to college. The advanced degree will allow her to take on a more active role in the clinical training program at CAPS. She hopes that this role will bridge her interest in providing clinical, as well as academic services to the university community.
